Summer and winter tourism between the Dolomites in Fassa Valley
Tourism in Fassa Valley lives thanks to its mountains, the Dolomites, which have also become UNESCO world’s heritage. Mainly tourists come in the valley during the best seasons: in summer, when the valley shines with its colors, and in winter, when the valley is covered with a white blanket of snow and the ski tows offer hundreds of kilometers of ski runs to enthusiast skiers. However the touristic boom happened only in the sixties/seventies. Before that period Fassa Valley was famous only among geologists (in 19th century), which found the Valley extremely intresting by the geologic point of view, and alpinists (at the end of the same century). In those years the Valley saw the born of the first hotels and hostels. The touristic boom happend, as we said, only twenty years after the end of the second world war until today. In these years many hotels, garnì, residence, apartments, campings, refuges rose up in the Valley. The vastness of choice is one of the main strength of the tourist offer in each one of the seven towns in the Valley.
