Canazei is the valley’s skiing capital since it is surrounded by the largest and most varied pistes in the Fassa Valley
Canazei is considered the skiing capital of the Fassa Valley and it is now well known in international skiing circles. Those who take the comfortable automatic cable car from the centre of the town will, in just a few minutes, be taken into the largest and most spectacular skiing circuit in the world: Sella Ronda. Thanks to the many facilities, when in the sunny valley of the Belvedere, it is possible not only to ski in the ski area itself but also to enter the Dolomiti Superski circuit. There are countless choices available, ranging from easy slopes to medium ones and on to the slopes marked in black, which are for the more daring skier. In summer, Canazei offers many starting points for unforgettable hiking trips. Some of the names of the Dolomite peaks, such as Pordoi, Sella and Marmolada are enough to bring to mind the hikes and climbs that have forged the history of mountain sports. In summer and winter alike, mountain-lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice. Boredom is not an option in Canazei – not even at night!
The municipality of Canazei includes two very important districts: Alba and Penia di Canazei. Together with Canazei, these two districts make the offer to tourists even more appealing – if that is possible – and not just in terms of overnight accommodation but above all, due to the presence of two more famous ski areas: Marmolada and Ciampac.
