Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and skating: winter in the Dolomites of the Val di Fassa is a dream that can come true
Winter is ruled by the snow! Skiing is the word that echoes around the faces of Sella and Pordoi. Ski slopes, lifts and facilities are everywhere. There are pistes of varying difficulty (for beginners, intermediate-level and expert skiers). The most popular ski area is the Belvedere above Canazei (which can also be reached using the Campitello cable car). As well as offering a wide choice of piste, this area will take you into the famous Sella Ronda, which is also known as the Giro dei Quattro Passi (a route that touches the four splendid Ladin valleys located around the Gruppo Sella). But the possibilities for skiing in the Val di Fassa do not stop here; there are also less crowded skiing areas that are just as charming and spectacular: Catinaccio, Costalunga-Carezza, Col Rodella, Ciampac, Buffaure or the Lusia ski area at Moena.
A winter holiday in the Val di Fassa does not just mean skiing! Other opportunities for fun and amusement – although linked to winter sports – include snowboarding, cross-country skiing, sleighing, skating, etc…
Skiing through the Dolomites is spectacular! Breathtaking views, clear skies, magnificent sunshine and lots and lots of facilities. There is no lack of places for “Après ski”: the choice is yours. The important thing is to have fun and those who want to relax after an exciting day can do so in the sauna at their hotel or in one of the many wellness centres in the valley.
All towns and villages are connected by the famous Skibus, which travels to each one so that you can change ski area every day, no matter where you are staying.
To offer you even more information about the winter period, we have created a site dedicated to the ski lifts and facilities and Ski Areas in the Val di Fassa: www.fassaski.com.
