Boredom is not an option in the Val di Fassa: a packed calendar of events awaits you every day! You will surely be spoilt for choice

Even if there were no Dolomites, it would still be worth visiting the Val di Fassa, even if only to attend the countless events that are organised throughout the valley every year. However, even though the Dolomites are there, the events - which for many may seem an optional extra - are really exceptional. They range from simple marching band parades to events that are held every year, like the now famous Festa dei Tobié in Canazei or the Rampilonga in Moena. Cultural and sporting events take place in winter and summer alike. The main dates are set for the summer period, since the climate is less harsh than in the winter, allowing many activities to be held out of doors. This does not mean that there are not many events in the winter and of these, we should mention the Ladin Carnival, where guests can admire the ancient costumes and masks of Fassa. Through the bright colours of their clothes and ribbons, according to the wooden masks they wear, the costumes portray different characters but above all, they are able to transmit the identity of an ancient mountain population with incomparable energy.

The calendar of events is of fundamental importance to tourists, since it allows them to find out quickly about all of the events in progress during their week in the Val di Fassa; it also allows them to organise their holidays for the period in which their favourite events take place.
