| Bus
and Coach Lines in the Val di Fassa
How to reach the Val
di Fassa using city bus services
There are two main
bus companies serving the Val di Fassa: Atesina
of Trento and SAD (Alto Adige). These two lines
depart respectively from the
railway stations of Trento and Bolzano. Although
further away from the Val di Fassa, the Atesina
line leaving from Trento offers more services than
the SAD line from Bolzano. Be sure to check the
timetables of each line on the relevant web sites.
In peak tourist periods, there are
also other services running a direct daily route
into the Val di Fassa from several Italian cities.
These are: Autostradale from Milan, Bergamo, and
Brescia; Brusutti from Venice, Mestre, and Treviso;
STAT from Savona, Genoa, Piacenza, and Cremona;
SITA from Siena, Florence, Bologna, and Modena;
ACT from Reggio Emilia and Parma; Lorenzini from
Lucca, Pisa, Leghorn, Parma, La Spezia, Massa, Reggio
Emilia, and Mantua. In this case too, it is a good
idea to contact the relevant bus or coach company
for more information about travelling conditions,
timetables, prices and above all, to make reservations,
which are almost always obligatory.
In winter, it is possible to travel
on the Skibus service throughout the day among the
various towns and villages of the Val di Fassa as
well as to the different skiing resorts. In this
case too, there are numerous services and it is
important to contact the local tourist offices in
the Val di Fassa for more information about the
travelling conditions and timetables for the different
services during the day.
Throughout the summer season, the
Atesina Viaggi agency organises half-day excursions
on luxury coaches. The destinations available are
all in the Dolomites and include the Sella Pass
- Ortisei and Lake Carezza - Sanctuary of Pietralba.
The agency also organises day trips to Salzburg,
Merano and Botanical Gardens, Innsbruck, Grand Tour
of the Dolomites, Munich, the Val Badia, and King
Ludwig's Castle in Neuschwanstein.
