| Getting
to the Val di Fassa by Plane
Nearest airports: Catullo,
Verona and Marco Polo, Venice
The
Val di Fassa is 180 km from the Valerio Catullo
Airport in Verona and 170 km from the Marco Polo
Airport in Venice. These are not the only airports
close by; in fact Innsbruck airport is only 160
km away and for intercontinental flights, the two
major airports of Malpensa (Milan) and Munich are
350 km and 450 km away respectively.
Travel from your destination airport
to the Val di Fassa should be organised using traditional
means, such as train or bus or even a taxi or car
hire service, such as those found at all airports.
Both Trento and Bolzano have small tourist airports.
The G. Caproni di Mattarello Airport in Trento is
a small structure that is open to national and EC
tourist air traffic and able to receive small tourist
craft and helicopters.
The
Bolzano Dolomiti Airport is larger and not only
receives tourist flights but has also recently organised
4 daily flights to and from Rome, two weekly flights
to and from Innsbruck and one weekly flight to and
from Olbia and Cagliari. As well as scheduled flights,
there are plans to add charter routes for cities
in Italy and abroad. The airline managing the flights
is the Austrian company Air Alps. For more information
about flight timetables and prices, please visit
the web sites of the airline and of Bolzano Airport.
