– Beneath the Stars in Val San Nicolò
A fascinating
journey beneath the stars in the Val San Nicolò
A unique, fabulous night time
event in the Val San Nicolò. Private
alpine refuges are opened to visitors for
the occasion and they welcome hundreds of
people with music, merriment and the possibility
to sample typical produce. This all takes
place by candlelight, beneath the starry skies
of this romantic Fassa vale. To see some photographs

- Dolomites Skyrace 2003
A spectacular
race between the walls of Pordoi
Once again the Dolomites
Skyrace was an exciting event: this year
because it was a closer finish than usual.
This is a race for “real” athletes,
who are used to fatigue and are not afraid
to face impervious terrain, sharp rocks, rugged
canyons and climbs that take them to their
very limit. Suffice to say that the 250 participants
covered an ascent of 1700 metres in an interminable
climb covering just 10 km, from Canazei up
to the peak of Piz Boè at 3150 metres.
This was followed by a descent of 12 kilometres,
where the slope and difficulty were so great
that competitors were roped in some sections.

6 July 2003 – A Great Success for the
Sounds of the Dolomites
"Cello
Trekking" followed by thousands of enthusiasts,
excursionists and the just plain curious
 This
year too the much-awaited "I Suoni delle
Dolomiti" (the
Sounds of the Dolomites) was a great success
with the public. This event consists of auteur
music played by exceptional performers in
a natural theatre that is beyond compare.
It was begun a few years ago and continues
to meet with increasing success from critics
and public alike: a cycle of concerts held
in the mountains of Trentino covering jazz,
classical and ethnic music. Organised by the
Trentino APT (Tourist Board), "I Suoni
delle Dolomiti" is held around the peaks,
refuges and mountain routes of the Dolomites,
including the Val di Fassa. For a complete
